Newcastle Leads Race to sign Michael Olise Amid Tottenham and Chelsea Interest
Talks appear to be ongoing between players and clubs, even though the transfer season won’t open
in earnest until July. Newcastle is well-positioned to capitalise on Chelsea’s bid for Michael Olise.
The Crystal Palace player is being pursued by the Blues, as Fabrizio Romano mentioned in his
exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside. The team is aware that other teams may be interested in signing the player.
It appears that the Eagles may be forced to part with one of their greatest players just a year after holding off the Blues, provided that any interested teams are willing to pay the player’s release clause, which is said to be worth roughly £60 million.
Newcastle want Chelsea ace Noni Madueke
Olise himself hasn’t said anything about it as of yet, maybe to avoid adding petrol to the fire.
The player’s proximity to the Blues during the summer offers them an edge over other teams that
might be interested in signing him, though it’s by no means a done deal.
There is a doubt over Noni Madueke’s future even if they are successful in acquiring the player.
I Sport claims that Newcastle will try to capitalise on this situation by luring the player to St. James’ Park.
Although it’s unclear if Olise would want to join the North East giants or if Chelsea would allow
the 22-year-old to go, Madueke would almost certainly play fewer minutes now that Olise has joined
the team (just 1272 in all competitions according to WhoScored).
That specific situation is still quiet for the time being, but after the European Championship is over,
the market should see some significant action.
