Fan Opinion : Southampton finally to sign 29-goal striker ahead for best results
As the Black Cats aim to bolster during the summer window, there are rumors about a Sunderland transfer.
After an outstanding 2023–24 season, Macaulay Langstaff, a striker for Notts County, has reportedly
drawn interest from various Championship clubs.
After scoring 41 goals in the National League to assist the Magpies earn promotion the year before,
the 27-year-old scored 28 goals in League Two for the team.
Back in January, Langstaff was rumored to be attracting interest from Sunderland, Middlesbrough, and Derby.
The League Two team was reportedly willing to pay approximately £1.5 million for the striker.
Journalist Darren Witcoop claims that although Langstaff has supporters,
Championship clubs decided not to sign the Notts County striker in January due to
concerns that he wouldn’t be able to adjust to the higher level. He continues by saying that
Swansea is one among the teams keeping an eye on the 27-year-old’s circumstances this summer.
It is believed that if Langstaff is sold, his previous team, Gateshead, will get a sell-on fee,
which is estimated to be roughly 10%. The striker and Notts County agreed to a new deal last
summer that will keep him there until 2027.
