Done deal: Atletico Madrid beat Wolves to sign Rodrigo Gomes from Braga for €15 million.
Rodrigo Gomes, a wide player for Braga, has been strongly connected to Atletico Madrid in recent days;
however, the Portuguese player will now join with Wolves in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old was tipped to be Los Colchoneros‘ right wing-back option.
He might challenge Nahuel Molina, who has frequently had Marcos Llorente or Cesar Azpilicueta take his spot.
Atletico had allegedly reached an agreement to pay €15 million.
Gomes, nevertheless, is reportedly on his way to Wolves, according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Atletico decided to put other priorities ahead of a deal for Gomes. In the Midlands, he will ink a five-year contract.
After starting negotiations for Artem Dovbyk of Girona and Robin Le Normand of Real Sociedad,
Atletico seems to be primarily interested on central defenders and a center-forward.
Nevertheless, most people at the Metropolitano would feel better at ease with a substitute given that Molina’s performances did raise concerns during the previous season.
