Everton, West Ham ‘open talks’ to sign Burnley man as Sean Dyche eyes replacement for Man Utd target
Everton and West Ham are both looking to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer
One of the Toffees’ best players, Jarrad Branthwaite, who has excelled under Sean Dyche and is a key target for
Manchester United, could leave the team.

Before turning in their finances for 2023–24 on June 30th, Everton needs to make one significant deal,
and the Red Devils want to seize the opportunity.
Branthwaite is valued at £80 million by Dyche’s team, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe thinks he can get the gifted defender
for less.
In preparation for the 21-year-old’s departure, Everton has compiled a shortlist of potential center backs that
they think they can sign for a reasonable price.
When it comes to West Ham, the Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui is fully aware that his team’s defense needs
to be strengthened as they prepare to enter a new chapter in their history.
Technical director Tim Steidten is reportedly interested in a number of defenders, and L’Equipe claims that the
Hammers are prepared to challenge Everton for Maxime Esteve of Burnley.
After Burnley was relegated to the Championship, Esteve, 22, is anticipated to depart, and it appears that he
will likely sign with a Premier League team.
The France under-23 international signed a one-year loan agreement with the Clarets in January,
which was then extended for a £10 million fee. Under Vincent Kompany, he was a regular starter right away.
This season, Esteve made 16 appearances in the Premier League for Burnley,
however he was unable to help his team record a clean sheet.
Nevertheless, this hasn’t deterred Everton or West Ham, who have supposedly “started preliminary
discussions” to attempt and sign the young player.
Esteve might be a great fit for Everton considering he recently acknowledged in an interview that he “loved” the
relegation fight from the previous season.
“I really enjoy it. It’s not even the best weather! However, the staff and coaches are very amazing,”
the defender remarked.
I’ve come a long way since January, and I now have a lot of responsibilities. I adore the club and its supporters,
and I’ve learned so much here. This is my happy place. I adore it; it’s really lovely.
