After his contract at Crystal Palace expired, goalkeeper Jack Butland joined Rangers in the summer. The goalkeeper had previously

spent the final few months of his deal with Manchester United.

Although the goalkeeper never played for the teams that inspired him as a child, John Brown has questioned United’s decision to let

Jack Butland go, arguing that Butland is more than capable of playing at Old Trafford.

John Brown, a Rangers icon, has expressed doubts over Manchester United’s choice to trade Jack Butland for Andre Onana.

The 62-year-old Ibrox great was praising the England Euro 2024 hopeful following his impressive debut season with the Rangers.

John Brown waxed poetic about Jack Butland during a special promotional event for the Rangers Youth Development Company.

Manchester United spent an estimated £47.2 million to recruit Andre Onana as a replacement for veteran goalkeeper David de Gea,

who left the Premier League team in the summer.

The Rangers 9IAR legend, however, believes the Gers have received a steal on Jack Butland and that the stopper is on par with or

perhaps superior to the Cameroonian.

Brown remarked, “I was always a fan of Butland.” He never received more minutes down south, which shocked me.
