Rangers: John Brown urges new contract for ‘outstanding’ John Lundstram at Ibrox

John Brown has urged Rangers to offer a new contract to John Lundstram after his “outstanding” performances so far this season, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.

The Ibrox star claimed that the club would want to keep its top players,

and that if Lundstram was willing to sign a new contract, it would be fantastic news for the club.

Lundstram has openly expressed his wish to stay at Rangers beyond the end of the season,

but contract talks have yet to conclude, sparking suspicion about the position.

Ball told the Daily Record [13 February]: “Absolutely. You want to keep your top players,

and if he is prepared to consider it, that is fantastic for the team. He has considerable experience.

“Lundstram is in the greatest shape he’s had since the season we reached the Europa League final.

He was fantastic that season and is displaying such form again.”

John Lundstram should sign a new Rangers deal.

His declaration that he would like to stay at Ibrox beyond the end of his current contract should be good news for Rangers supporters,

Philippe Clement, and everyone else involved,

since one of their most essential and trustworthy players is eager to stay in Glasgow.

With the player keen,

it is up to the board to complete the deal, and if they fail to do so for whatever reason,

it will be clear who is to blame,

with Lundstram declaring his intention to sign a deal if one is provided.

However, it has been suggested that the Englishman will be one of the highest-

paid players at Ibrox after joining on a free transfer from Sheffield United, with the Gers set to pay a fee to lure him to Glasgow.

It should be one of the focuses at Ibrox for the rest of the season to get Lundstram signed to a new contract.

He has been one of Clement’s most consistent performances, earning a new deal.
