Fans Slam Saints Clock Operator for Alleged Favoritism Against Commanders

The Washington Commanders narrowly lost to the New Orleans Saints 20-19 on Sunday, with controversy erupting over the final moments of the game. As Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler led a last-minute drive, trailing 20-13, he completed a pass to tight end Foster Moreau inside the five-yard line with under 10 seconds remaining. While the Saints hurried to spike the ball, the game clock mysteriously paused for several seconds, allowing Rattler to stop the clock with three seconds left.

Rattler then connected with Moreau for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to one point. Commanders fans were outraged, accusing the Saints’ home clock operator of unfair play.

“Whoever was running the clock just cheated for the Saints. It stopped at 9 seconds for 5 seconds,” one fan tweeted. Another wrote, “The Saints’ scorekeeper literally paused the clock—HELLO???” Many echoed similar frustrations, calling it “blatant” and “home cooking” in favor of the Saints.
