Dortmund Coach Nuri Şahin Weighs In on Tougher La Liga Opponent: Real Madrid or Barcelona

Borussia Dortmund head coach Nuri Şahin was asked to share his perspective on which of Spain’s football giants—Real Madrid or Barcelona—poses a tougher challenge.

Dortmund recently faced both clubs in the Champions League. Despite a strong first half against Real Madrid, the team succumbed to a 5-2 defeat. Later, they fell to Barcelona in a closely contested 3-2 match at Signal Iduna Park.

When asked to compare the two sides, Şahin, a former Real Madrid player, gave a response that reflected his personal ties:

“Wow. You’re asking a Madridista! For me, Dortmund, but if I have to choose, I would always choose Real Madrid.”
