Farke sends classy message to Leicester City and Ipswich Town as Leeds United focus on play-offs
Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds United, has instructed his team
to prepare for a new competition as they pursue promotion.
In the midst of Leeds United’s rapid regrouping in preparation for the Championship play-offs,
Daniel Farke has congratulated Leicester City and Ipswich Town on their promotions to the Premier League.
The Whites had little chance of finishing in the top two going into the last day of the regular season.
But the Tractor Boys, who defeated Huddersfield Town 2-0, took second place,
leaving United fighting it out in the play-offs.
The Whites enter the end-of-season knockout competition in
bad shape following consecutive league losses to Southampton and Queens Park Rangers.
Farke, the Whites’ manager, will be experiencing the play-offs for the first time.
“It is a new competition again,” Farke told Sky Sports, expressing optimism
that injured players Daniel James and Patrick Bamford would be ready
for their two-leg match against Norwich City. We make a cut beneath this.
Congratulations to Ipswich and Leicester, we must say.
We all deserve to be where we are, and they deserve to be promoted.
With 90 points, we are the third-best squad in this league.
Normally, you would advance automatically every other season,
but in this particular one, we might have fallen short by one
or two percentage points to surpass Leicester and Ipswich, so congrats to them.
