Preview: Rangers vs. Ross County: lineups, team news, and predictions
Rangers will resume their pursuit of the Scottish Premiership title on Wednesday night when they welcome Ross County to Ibrox, following their victory in the Scottish Cup the previous weekend.
For the first time since they won 2-0 at Victoria Park in August of last year, the Gers will take on the Staggies.
Rangers have won seven straight games in all competitions since falling to Old Firm rivals Celtic in their final 2023 match. This includes their 2-0 victory over Championship team Ayr United at home in the Scottish Cup fifth round on Saturday.
The season’s first goal was scored by left-back Borna Barisic in the tenth minute, and January loanee Fabio Silva added another goal to complete the victory in the seventieth, setting up an away quarterfinal matchup with Hibernian the following month.
After a run of 14 victories from 16 games and 37 goals scored, Philippe Clement’s team turns their attention back to the Scottish Premiership, where they have mounted a serious challenge for the championship since the Belgian’s arrival in mid-October.
Rangers are now sixth in the standings, but if they defeat Ross County by at least three goals on Wednesday—something the Gers have only done five times in their previous 22 meetings—they will have the opportunity to move up to the top of the standings based on goal differential.
Even so, Clement’s team will be optimistic about earning all possible points because they have triumphed over the Staggies in each of their last eight games played at Ibrox and their last five league meetings.
Ross County, on the other hand, has lost 16 of their last 17 meetings with Rangers and has never celebrated victory over them in their top flight history.

We declare: Rangers 2-0. Ross County
Rangers, who could advance to the Premiership summit, will be considered heavy favorites to win all available points.
If Ross County wants to win, they will need to play tenacious defense and seize any opportunities that present themselves in the final third. Still, it is challenging to back against a dominant Gers team at home.
