BBC Sport has published the most likely time for the postponed Everton vs. Liverpool match.
The final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park – barring the clubs meeting in the FA Cup –
was called off on 7 December as Storm Darragh wreaked havoc on the UK,
with the North West one of the most affected regions.
As per The Independent [7 December], the relevant authorities have a headache
inding an ideal date to reschedule the fixture that suits both sides.
However, BBC Sport reported on Monday [9 December] that the week commencing
17 February has been identified as the “most likely” time to pencil in the Merseyside derby,
but will be contingent on Liverpool securing a top-eight finish in the Champions League.
Everton could be a new-look side when they face Liverpool at Goodison Park
The feelings on the Blue half of Merseyside are mixed following the postponement of the derby,
with Everton heading into the clash in a rare vein of form after the 4-0 win against Wolves.
However, form goes out the window in a Merseyside derby and with Arne Slot undoubtedly out for
blood after dropping points in the Premier League title race,
Sean Dyche should feel relieved his fate will not be in the hands of his cross-city rivals.
Furthermore, the Blues could prepare for the Goodison Park send-off as a whole new outfit,
with The Friedkin Group expected to complete the proposed takeover in time for the New Year.
