Leeds United and Daniel Farke handed vital double title race boost following Derby County win

Leeds United took their chance to climb to the top of the Championship table, for a few of hours at least, with a win over Derby County in the early kick-off at Elland Road.

Two quick-fire first half goals from Joe Rodon and Max Wober gave Daniel Farke’s men a 2-0 win over the Rams, and saw them climb above both Burnley and Sheffield United in the table. The Blades take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.

The midweek matchup against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night will already be the focus of Leeds’ attention. The Whites are seven points ahead of Michael Carrick’s team, who are now in fifth place.
