Tuttosport newspaper reports that Inter sources have denied the reported interest in Marco Verratti, who is not a target for the Nerazzurri due to his age and wages.
Italian midfielder Verratti, currently under contract with Al-Arabi SC,
has been linked with a move to Inter, but the Nerazzurri have denied their interest in the ex-Pescara star.
According to Tuttsport newspaper, Inter sources have denied the
interest in the 32-year-old who spent 11 years at PSG before joining the Qatari side in the summer of 2023.
Tuttosport claims that new Inter owners Oaktree Capital
Management haven’t even considered signing the experienced Italian midfielder due to his salary and age.
Oaktree want to rejuvenate the team and sign young and promising
reinforcements, so 32-year-old Verratti is clearly not an ideal profile for the Biscione.
Verratti also earns €30m per season at Al-Arabi SC, an unaffordable sum for any Serie A club and most European teams.
Not even a possible loan move would attract Inter, who will not bring Verratti back to Italy.
