Man United eye £69m Victor Osimhen swap as January transfer ‘targeted’

Manchester United are said to be looking for a center-forward following Ruben Amorim’s signing at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are allegedly open to switching new signing Joshua Zirkzee for Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen during the January transfer window.

Zirkzee has struggled to adjust to life in the Premier League after joining from Bologna in the summer. According to MEN Sport, there are some within United who believe the Dutchman lacks the necessary qualities to be a regular member of the Reds’ squad.

As a result, suspicions have spread that the forward may return to Italy. With United looking to strengthen their assault, Osimhen is the latest player to be linked with the Reds.

The Nigerian was previously a target for Erik ten Hag, but United couldn’t afford him at the time. However, a deal did not materialise in the summer, and Osimhen was loaned out to Galatasaray for the current season.

It is thought that a break provision was placed in the loan so that Osimhen may join one of Europe’s top ten clubs. It’s uncertain if United is one of them.

According to Area Napoli, United is attempting to kill two birds with one stone by arranging a swap deal with the Naples club. United are expected to provide £33.2 million plus Zirkzee for the brilliant striker, bringing the total worth of the trade to roughly £69 million.

Osimhen has scored eight goals in 11 games since moving to Turkey. Meanwhile, Malik Tillman, an attacking midfielder for PSV Eindhoven, is rumored to be on United’s January wish list. The former Bayern Munich player has shown promise in the Premier League, scoring eight goals and dishing out four assists in 19 games.

Although United is reportedly interested, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are also rumored to be interested. Tillman is thought to prefer a move to the Premier League, but the Reds would have to spend up to £33 million to acquire him this winter.
