JUST ARRIVED: Igor Jesus has finally made a career decision and signed a new contract In West Ham in a bid offer of £30m+…. -Details.
Globo Esporte revealed on November 4th that West Ham United had notified John Textor,
the owner of Botafogo, through a middleman that they would be putting in a €30 million proposal for Igor Jesus.
Textor acknowledged having discussions with West Ham, four other Premier League teams, and two more from La Liga three days later.
In an effort to try to sign the 23-year-old in the winter transfer window, Julen Lopetegui’s team has taken additional actions.
RTI Esporte claims that West Ham has made an offer of £30 million plus
€5 million in bonuses for the forward. Due to the fact that the player is
“almost non-negotiable,” the Brazilian club has rejected this offer.
Jesus joined the South American club in July and signed a contract until December 2027.
He managed eight goals and three assists from 26 games for Botafogo, who are keen on retaining him.
It’s claimed Arsenal, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Tottenham have asked about the player,
but their requests were denied. The Hammers went a step ahead by sending an offer, which has been rejected.
RTI Esporte state Jesus has a €100m [£83.5m] clause for clubs outside Brazil and West Ham can only sign him by activating his clause.
That is very questionable, and it’s not hard to argue it’s also questionable Textor
would turn down £30m plus £5m in bonuses. He’s currently trying to move
money between his clubs to help save Lyon from a financial penalty relegation to France’s Ligue 2, so needs sales.
