Aston Villa has confirmed intentions to honor the 21 victims of the Birmingham pub bombings.

On the 50th anniversary of the Birmingham pub bombings, Aston Villa has

announced preparations to honor those who perished in the attacks.

Bombs detonated in the Mulberry Bush and the Tavern, two bars in the heart of the city,

on November 21, 1974. The explosions killed 21 people and left 182 injured,

but no one has ever been held accountable for the slaughter,

which is still the biggest unsolved mass murder in Britain.

To mark the anniversary, Villa’s president of business operations Chris

Heck and club ambassador Brian Little will this afternoon attend a memorial

service at New Street Station.

The names of the victims will then be shown on the large screens during a minute of applause at halftime of Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace at Villa Park. During the applause, family members will also be pitchside.
As part of the AV150 Legacy Fan Wall, Villa has also confirmed that a permanent tribute to the victims would be unveiled in early 2025.

To honor the 21 individuals who were slain in 1974, there will also be a silence in the city center on Thursday. In 2019, an inquest determined that the IRA was responsible for their murder.
