Leeds United see £17M bid accepted for top scorer Ermedin Demirovic from Stuttgart

Leeds United could start this season with a much different group of players from last year. The club has seen eight new additions this summer, alongside a few departures.

The Whites could see a few more exits before the end of the window, after the likes of Mateo Joseph and Joe Gelhardt departed on loan. Illan Meslier and Patrick Bamford are among the names linked with a possible move away.

Leeds’ attack has already seen a significant change during pre-season. Joel Piroe is the only one that remains from last year’s group. Bamford has been told to find a new club, and Mateo Joseph has been loaned out. In that time, the Whites have added Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Leeds United submit offer for Bundesliga star

Late on Friday night, a report emerged from Germany. Apparently the Whites are very interested in a move to sign Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic. Kicker are now reporting that Leeds have now submitted an offer for the 27-year old.

According to the report the Whites have bid £17million for the Bosnian. But as it stands, that is far away from the £35million asking price of the Bundesliga side. Kicker are saying that Stuttgart will only open talks if the offer is near their asking price.

Demirovic is not against leaving the club, as he could be looking for more playing time. He is also open to staying; but the report says any move for the striker could depend on what happens with Nick Woltemade, who is a serious target for Bayern Munich.

Daniel Farke open to adding another striker

One would question why Leeds need so many strikers for this season. But Daniel Farke actually revealed that the club know about the injury problems of Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha. So it would not be a surprise to see another forward signed in the coming weeks.

”I wouldn’t rule out another striker signing because you always have to be awake until the last second if there is an opportunity. There are a few doubts due to the injury records of Dominic and Lukas.”
