Celtic could repeat Kuhn masterclass by signing £7.5m wizard
Since Matt O’Riley moved to the Premier League, Celtic attacker Nicolas Kuhn has been the talk of the town and has had an incredible start to the 2024–25 season.
In order to increase his wide options before the second half of the season, Brendan Rodgers swooped to sign the German forward from Rapid Vienna at the beginning of the year for an estimated £3 million.
But Kuhn needed the remainder of that term to get used to living in Scotland. He made 14 appearances in the Scottish Premiership, managing a somewhat unimpressive return of two goals and two assists.
The 24-year-old has excelled in every competition this season after having time to adjust and a preseason to prepare for the season.
The form of Nicolas Kuhn for Celtic
In 17 games in all competitions, the left-footed wizard has provided ten goals and eleven assists, or more than one goal per game on average.
Kuhn has excelled in the Premiership and has one goal and two assists in three Champions League appearances this season.
The table above shows that the former Ajax and Bayern Munich player has been an outstanding goal scorer and creator in the top division.
These figures demonstrate that Celtic’s January recruitment of Kuhn, which gave him the second half of the season to adjust, was a masterclass that enabled him to start this season strong.
By grabbing Royal Antwerp wizard Michel-Ange Balikwisha during the January transfer window, Rodgers may replicate the blinder he performed with the 24-year-old Hoops player.
