Dom Howson believes Daniel Farke will look to strengthen his Leeds United forward line during the January transfer window.

The Whites were linked with a plethora of attackers during the summer but failed to bring any high-profile names to Elland Road following the departures of Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville.

Leeds did, however, sign Manor Solomon and Largie Ramazani, two wingers, although Farke has had to cope with stints without either of them because of injuries.

Howson stated in an article published by LeedsLive on Thursday, November 13, that Daniel Farke’s primary priority going into the January transfer window is probably going to be acquiring a new forward.

“Last summer, Leeds United, who are currently third in the Championship, were unsuccessful in their attempts to sign a No. 10 player.”

Will Leeds United look to recruit a new forward before the January transfer window opens?

Only Sunderland has scored more goals in the Championship than Leeds, who have by no means suffered in the final third. The defensive third has also been outstanding.

Only Burnley and Sheffield United have let less balls into their nets than Farke’s team, who now sit third in the league with nine goals given up.

A fresh forward signing might help Leeds achieve their goal of automatic promotion directly to the Premier League rather than having to contend with the play-offs once more.

Despite the goalscoring record and only two losses in 15 matches so far, Piroe is the current top scorer at Elland Road with six goals, a far cry from what the club had last season.

Summerville netted 19 times last season, with Dan James and Piroe following behind with 13 goals each, but there has not been a standout attacker so far, with everyone chipping in with important goals.
