Manager fully believes 24-year-old will leave Rangers permanently in the summer

Cruzeiro boss Nicolas Larcamon reckons Rangers flop Jose Cifuentes will leave Ibrox for good in the summer.

The Ecuadorian moved to Glasgow for £1.2 million after Michael Beale bought him from LAFC as part of his 2023/24 recruitment drive.

Fans were enthusiastic about Cifuentes joining the Rangers as highlight tapes from his time in America circulated on social media.

However, Cifuentes failed to persuade the fans,

and Philippe Clement is clearly unimpressed with the defensive midfielder as well.

According to Transfer market

, he started 14 of his 20 appearances for Gers before being frozen out by Clement and eventually left for Cruzeiro in the Brazilian Serie A.

The agreement is a loan until the end of the season with the option to buy,

and Cruzeiro manager Larcamon has spoken to the press about whether he believes the club will sign Cifuentes permanently.

According to freelance journalist Mark Walker of the Daily Record,

Nicolas Larcamon stated, “The deal is complete.

” We have the option of purchasing Jose Cifuentes at the end of his loan,

and I am confident that will happen.

He is a very complete player who will contribute significantly to the club.

“Jose has numerous strengths in his game.

He is very comfortable on the ball and will also offer aggression to the team.

“He will significantly improve our midfield.

He will be a valuable addition to the squad,

and we aim to get him on board as soon as possible.

“Rangers can move to the top of the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday if they defeat Ross County by more than three goals.

The Gers have also advanced in the Scottish Cup,

defeating Ayr United 2-0 over the weekend to reach the quarter-finals.

Rangers also finished first in their Europa League Group and,

depending on the draw, will hope to go to the round of 16 after being seeded.
