against Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt, but this was insufficient to earn

him a spot in the starting lineup for the 2021–2022 season. Van Bronckhorst

brought him back in January 2022.

The former Feyenoord manager gave a clear explanation for his early recall, saying

that he needed an additional offensive option in his lineup.

But as the last few months of the season saw him score just twice, and the player moved again

just two years earlier, due to the necessity for cash to acquire other players.

It was just another awful transfer that the Light Blues carried out, and it has now

Giving Itten consistent playing time could have helped his confidence, even if the Ibrox team

In addition, he led the team in goals and assists (23) in the Swiss top division.

He also led the team in shots per game (2.6), big chance creation (seven),

and penalty wins (two), displaying the attacking abilities he was unable

to display during his time in Glasgow.

Despite his meager eight goals in 23 games this season, his performances

since going back to Switzerland have made Young Boys’ £1.5 million transfer fee an excellent value.

The former Gers forward is reportedly worth €8.8 million (£7.5 million),

according to Football Transfers, and it’s obvious the team made

a small mistake by allowing him to depart for little money.
