Confirmed:Leicester city manager to depart club this summer as ex-Leeds united figure targets coach
Victor Orta, the former director of football of Leeds United, is apparently interested in hiring Leicester City’s
head coach Enzo Maresca to join Sevilla in Spain.
In the Andalusian city, Maresca enjoys great respect after playing more than 100 times in a fruitful four-year
run. Between 2005 and 2009, the Italian helped Sevilla win the UEFA Super Cup, Copa del Rey, Supercopa de
Espana, and UEFA Cup thrice. After being promoted to the Foxes this season, the player might be tempted to
leave.
Due to Profitability and Sustainability violations, Leicester is anticipated to receive a sports discipline from the
Premier League in the form of a point deduction. As a result, the Championship winners would start 2024–2025 with less points.
Despite winning promotion back to the Premier League, Leicester’s financial struggles this summer are
expected to tempt Maresca to join Sevilla. Additionally, the sale of midfield talisman Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall—
who may be reluctantly let go to improve the club’s accounting outlook—is also expected to be a factor.
Maresca has nevertheless declared that he is content at the team and that he will supposedly speak with the
Foxes management in the next few days about his future there.
Though Orta is thought to be an admirer of the 44-year-old coach, this is unlikely to stop him after he was
recently seen watching highlights from one of Leicester’s games.
