Updated Chiefs Injury Report Shows Unsettling Trends
The Chiefs released their latest injury report late Thursday night and one surprising player was listed as a limited participant in practice.
Rising star WR Rashee Rice was a full participant on Wednesday but downgraded to limited on Thursday for apparent “ankles” injuries, an interesting note given that both legs seem to be bothering him.
There’s no indication that he won’t play on Sunday in the Super Bowl, but it’s disconcerting to see him listed nonetheless.
Chiefs Injury News: The Most Recent Report Lists Rashee Rice as Limited Participant
Fortunately, Willie Gay Jr. was not mentioned in the report at all, thus he will play after suffering from injuries during the postseason. Joe Thuney did not practice and is still a long shot to participate, while Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon also had limited playing time.
Rice’s selection raises concerns, but he should be fine to play against the 49ers, according to reports.
George Kittle hasn’t been able to practice much this week for the 49ers. We’ll keep a watch on things before the big game because it’s possible that any of these players who have been dealing with lingering problems could have an outburst during the game.
Although the Chiefs are the 49ers’ slight underdogs, they have a unique chance to win their third Super Bowl in the previous five years and second straight. We can only hope that all of these guys will be playing at their peak on Sunday because it’s an amazing moment to be in Kansas City.
