Nottingham Forest has been hit by £70m blow following relegation news
That is according to finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that relegation to the Championship would “hit them hard”.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad has three games left to ensure their Premier League future.
Forest are now awaiting the outcome of their appeal against a four-point deduction issued earlier this season.
If their appeal is successful, the team hopes to reclaim points.
Maguire indicated that relegation this season will deal a significant blow to Forest, with revenue expected to decline by £60-£70 million.
This will hit them hard.
“They spent a lot of money to get into and stay in the Premier League during the last few seasons.
“Of course, fans, management, and owners want Forest to play at the greatest level.
“So there’s a financial cost and there’s an emotional cost as well.”
