Troy Aikman Had a Five-Word Message for Dak Prescott and His Future With Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys went into the NFL playoffs with high expectations after finishing with a 12–5 regular season and an NFC East division title.

But Dallas’ postseason came to an abrupt end as the Green Bay Packers defeated them 48–32 in the wild card round.

Dak Prescott, the starting quarterback, took the brunt of the blame for the defeat and his incapacity to lead the club past the halfway point.

His record as the starting quarterback in the playoffs, where he has passed for 1,962 yards and 14 touchdowns to seven interceptions, slipped to 2–5 with the most recent postseason loss.

Even though Prescott is under increasing pressure to start producing when the chips are down, Cowboys icon Troy Aikman still sees Prescott as the Dallas starter.

Aikman declared, “I still believe in Dak.” “I think those comments will always be there until you prove yourself [during the playoffs].

Those were Peyton Manning’s first three seasons without a postseason victory.

And then you reflect on it today, and it’s hard to believe that anyone ever doubted his ability to win a postseason game.”

“The pressure gets higher for sure as they go into this offseason and into next season, but it makes it hard,

” he added. “It makes it hard for them to come back and do it all over again. …

Hopefully, they have more opportunities ahead of them.”

Next season, all eyes will be on coach Mike McCarthy and Prescott as they attempt to bring

Dallas their long-awaited Super Bowl after yet another heartbreaking playoff loss.
