He’s got that in him’: Scottish pundit backs ‘top player’ to get even better if Rangers sign him

Derek Ferguson has called Kilmarnock wide player Danny Armstrong a “top player,” thus Rangers supporters are

backing the team to make a move for him. Meanwhile, Nordsjaelland midfielder Mohamed Diomande is expected to come,

giving Rangers fans hope for a second January acquisition.

Fabio Silva of Wolverhampton Wanderers has already come this month, and Diomande will provide Philippe Clement two goals.

Derek Ferguson backs Kilmarnock’s Danny Armstrong for Rangers move

Former Rangers midfielder Derek Ferguson has told Open Goal that he thinks Kilmarnock ace

Danny Armstrong would be a fine signing for the Gers.

Ferguson suggested that Armstrong could definitely ‘cut it’ at Rangers, calling him a ‘top player’ with some ‘devilment’ in his style of play.

Ferguson believes that Scottish clubs are looking abroad for signings too often and that Rangers should

take a leaf out of Walter Smith’s book by going for a Scottish talent in the middle of the season.

Armstrong is the man Ferguson thinks could make the step up and potentially get even better by being around better players with a move to Rangers.

“In my opinion—and this is just mine—he might play well for the Rangers. I believe he have that quality.

It is evident that he is one of the best players in our game. Ferguson remarked, “There’s a little devilment about him.

” They seem to be looking farther afield. Take a look at these people from Argentina and other foreign countries.

We don’t know much about them, so we’re not sure if they could handle it or how long it would take them to adjust.

Armstrong is a left-footed wide player who can play on either flank or even as a wing back.

His aggressive style of play and plenty of crosses into the box are helping Kilmarnock to great effect.

Armstrong would undoubtedly provide the Rangers with an additional wide option, and his play this

year suggests that he might be prepared for a promotion.

This Rangers team would benefit from having a natural left-footer for balance, and because of

Armstrong’s versatility, Clement may play him in a variety of situations.

Although some Rangers supporters might be thinking of larger names, Armstrong is a Scottish

talent that shouldn’t be overlooked, and we’d be shocked if the Gers hadn’t at least given him a look this month.
