In addition to commenting on Philippe Clement elevating the atmosphere at Ibrox, Kris Boyd has given his

assessment of Rangers and Celtic’s chances of winning the SPFL championship.

He has seen that everyone at the Gers’ house is grinning as their team is back in the running for the championship.

Despite losing the Old Firm, they’ve got a game in hand over Brendan Rodgers’

side and are just three points behind them.

“We can talk about managers and all the work they put in on the training field, but when you start winning games of

football you start getting belief,” Boyd said in an interview with Sky Sports on February 8.

This is just what Rangers are doing right now.

“They suffered a setback when they went to Celtic Park and were defeated,

but they got back up and rode again.

“Clement talks about turning up at Ibrox and everyone has a smile on their face. Everyone is expecting to win

football matches at Rangers and the fans are right behind the team. They feel something is brewing.

“However, it all comes down to one thing and that is winning games of football. When that happens that is when the smiles come.

Between now and the end of the season, there will be a lot of chopping and shifting. There will be twists and turns,

but the good news for Scottish football is that we have a title competition this year, something we haven’t had in a long time.

Rangers fled with it after winning it, and Celtic had done so for years. We’ll be excited from now until the conclusion

of the season, even though I don’t think it’s the best Old Firm team we’ve seen.

Rangers and Clement give Celtic reasons to fear

Boyd’s assessment of Rangers’ resurgence under Clement strikes a chord of truth, echoing the sentiment that

something special is brewing at Ibrox.

Despite stumbling against Celtic in the Old Firm, Gers’ swift rebound and their proximity to their rivals on the table signal a genuine title challenge.

Boyd aptly highlights the infectious optimism permeating through the club, with players, staff and fans alike buoyed by their recent form.

Boyd’s admission that a true title race is uncommon in Scottish football further emphasizes how important the club’s comeback is.

The Hoops’ domination in the title race for years made for little suspense, but with the Ibrox team closing near, things have drastically changed.

Rangers appear as the front-runners for the championship with momentum firmly on their side. However, the

season has still got plenty of twists and turns, so it’s too soon to write anyone off.
