Philippe Clement  set to make several changes to his Rangers starting lineup for the Scottish Cup fifth-round clash with Ayr on Saturday evening.

Jack Butland, John Lundstram, Cyriel Dessers axed – Rangers predicted XI v Ayr

Rangers defeated Aberdeen 2-1 in midweek to keep pressure on Celtic in the title race,

while Ayr will visit Ibrox with ex-Celtic captain Scott Brown in charge.

However, with a tough schedule for the team and Clement dealing with injuries and suspensions,

he may try to make multiple changes to his lineup to freshen things up and keep some of the fringe players ready.

Robby McCrorie, an academy graduate, will start for the Rangers
Robby McCrorie, who began in the last round of the cup and impressed,

could be set for a rare start ahead of Jack Butland, whom Chris Sutton described as “excellent”.

With Ben Davies and Leon Balogun injured and Dujon Sterling likely suspended,

the boss has few choices in defence, therefore James Tavernier, Connor Goldson,

and John Souttar should hold their positions. However, Borna Barisic is fit and available,

and he might replace Ridvan Yilmaz, who has recently established himself as the first-choice left-back.In midfield,

John Lundstram has been a constant in recent weeks, but there have been few options, and he deserves to rest.

Nicolas Raskin has been on the bench in previous games and should start,

while senior ace Ryan Jack might potentially come in for some playing time.

Ross McCausland has been a regular since Clement arrived,

but his impact has waned in recent games, so he should come out and allow Scott Wright another chance to shine.

Todd Cantwell’s importance to the offense remains, and he could remain at number ten to provide some lineup continuity, while Rabbi Matondo has impressed and should start on the left.

Up forward, Fabio Silva and Cyriel Dessers have both been in fine form since the turn of the year,

but the Portuguese starlet should get the nod as he attempts to establish himself in the squad.
