The drama factor was high in Celtic’s victory over Hibs last night. This game had a lot of late drama—penalties, a masterful home team equalizer, and a last-minute winner.

Although there was a lot of excitement towards the finish, the game itself was very dull, and Celtic supporters thought Hibs might have won when Dylan Levitt’s goal in the 60th minute put them ahead.

For the majority of the final half hour, Celtic was under pressure, but an Adam Idah penalty kick was enough to grab the three points and make Sky Sports analyst Kris Boyd furious.

Speaking after the game, Boyd remarked that Brendan Rodgers’ team was extremely fortunate not to lose more points and that Celtic had robbed Hibs.

He did, however, reluctantly give Adam Idah, the penalty hero, some plaudits.

“Any game you want to get the three points, but make no mistake, Celtic got away with one tonight, there is no doubt about that,” Boyd stated [to Sky Sports].

“Credit to Idah for coming up and scoring two huge penalties in the manner that he did. Before he even got up, a lot of people were asking questions of him.

“Everything changes around you when you win a game, and you feel like you were in control of it, but Celtic was much below the level they had established the previous two years. They got away with robbery tonight, even though it was during the day.

With Celtic now leading the title race by three points, Rodgers has some breathing room before facing St Mirren in the Scottish Cup.
Rangers still have the game, to be sure, but as they say, it’s better to have the points in the bank.
Though the outcome wasn’t very noteworthy, Celtic does need to figure out how to step up their performances and rediscover their magic since, in that ninety-minute display at Easter Road, not much happened.
