Arsenal contacts Aston Villa player; Emery’s team won’t settle for a “no less than” amount
Jhon Durán of Aston Villa has found his way onto Arsenal’s winter transfer agenda.
The Colombian publication AS claims that this is their own knowledge regarding Arsenal’s interest in the striker.
This season, Durán has netted six goals for Aston Villa, including the game-winning goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Unai Emery’s team rewarded him earlier this month with a new contract that runs through 2030.
Despite this, other teams, notably Arsenal, are still interested in the 20-year-old. According to reports, a number of teams have gotten in touch with the Villans to inquire about the cost of hiring the Colombian international.
The “two big teams” among these that are interested in signing him in January are the Gunners and Barcelona.
According to the source, Aston Villa has told Arsenal and the La Liga team that they require €90 million for the star, or “no less than.”
Given their current financial status, Barca is unlikely to grant Aston Villa’s request, at least not in the upcoming window. If they can persuade Durán and Emery’s team, this might provide Arsenal an easy path.
