Spurs eventually beat Man United for a fantastic Turkish pair before their January raid for €70 million.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is aiming to make
a January move for the Turkish players Kerem Akturkoglu and Orkun Kokcu, but Tottenham Hotspur,
a rival in the Premier League,
will compete with the Red Devils.
According to CaughtOffside sources, both clubs had scouts observing the two during Turkey’s most recent Champions League encounter against Iceland.
It is anticipated that Benfica’s match against Atletico Madrid will give the Premier League clubs and others a chance to further opportunity to take a look at the players.
In January, Erik ten Hag wants a Turkish duo.
The Dutchman is operating under the assumption that he will still be in control
at Old Trafford in January, of course, but it is thought that his reprieve from
the firing line would only last a short while if things don’t improve before then.
In a recent interview, Sir Jim Ratcliffe seems to disassociate himself from any ten Hag dismissal rumors, while former United great David Beckham has encouraged the club’s co-owner to make things better.
“I’ve met Jim a few times over the years with some mutual acquaintances,
and I truly like him. In addition to being one of the greatest and biggest businessmen,
I believe he is a fan, Beckham stated on the Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast.
In fact, it is thought that the club has already added another name to an expanding list of possible successors for the manager who is struggling and performing poorly.
