Dapo Mebude revealed his “dream” of an Ibrox comeback in a recent admission.
The 23-year-old exhausted his contract at Ibrox and left as a free agent more than three years ago.
He then signed free transfers to play for Watford, Oostende, and Dunfermline Athletic.
Mebude was kept out of the Light Blues’ starting lineup by Jermain Defoe and Alfredo
Morelos during his lone senior appearance, which he made during the 2018–19 Scottish Premiership season.
On Thursday, October 17, Mebude stated in an interview with the Daily Record,
“I hope to play for Rangers once more in the future.” I’d be thrilled to play at Ibrox.
I made my stage debut as a young boy before deciding to go in a different direction.
“It will happen if it is meant to be. Scoring goals for Rangers is the dream,
and it would be fantastic to play for the team once more. I make an effort not to look back on life.
I felt that leaving Rangers was the right decision.
While many young players aspire to be stars at Ibrox, only a small percentage succeed and must consider other possibilities. Fewer still get to go back to the club.
Mebude, who is currently playing football in Scotland’s second division, has an opportunity to restart his career after suffering a string of unfortunate misfortunes, including nearly dying in an automobile accident.
Though it just takes one season to make an impression, a return to Ibrox seems incredibly unlikely given his goal total over the seasons since departing the Gers.
The center-forward has only played 18 minutes for Dunfermline in the Scottish Championship thus far, but it is obvious that he has long-term objectives in mind, including the possibility of returning to Ibrox.
