West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has expressed his delight at The Hawthorns and stated that he would be’very

glad’ to extend his career with the club.

Corberan has led West Brom for nearly two years. The Spaniard, who previously played for Huddersfield Town, was

out of the game following an unsuccessful and brief spell with Olympiacos before joining the Baggies. Steve Bruce,

who had passed away, needed to be replaced. Since then, both the club and Corberan have had only success.

Following a push up the table in 2022/23, the 41-year-old led them to the play-offs last season, but ultimately fell

short against eventual winners Southampton.

There has previously been conjecture about Corberan’s West Brom future, with higher-level clubs linked, but he has

remained dedicated, and his bond with the loving fans has only grown deeper since. And, much to the delight of

supporters, it appears he has no plans to move on. Corberan discussed his future with Birmingham Live, saying it

would make him’very, very pleased’ to extend his career at West Brom. He admits, “I used to think I was a young

coach, but now you see a different age of players and I’m one of the experienced ones in a short space of time!”It feels

like only yesterday that I was appointed as Huddersfield’s coach, and now there have been more years. “I can only

tell you that one thing that would make me happy is to continue my career with this club. “It would make me very

happy.” Corberan is a tremendously popular character at West Brom, and few would dispute that there is a better

candidate for the position. He has remained committed and focused in difficult situations, and he has consistently

provided results. With a brighter future ahead thanks to a much-needed buyout, the Spanish manager should have

an easier time dealing with off-pitch issues and ownership wrangles. The Baggies‘ early season form suggests that

after falling short in the play-offs last year, they’re determined to leave no doubt about promotion by finishing in the

top two. As always, the competition is fierce, but Corberan’s team is capable of defeating anyone.
