Dr Rajpal Brar has stated that Rangers midfielder Kieran Dowell will not likely

return to first-team training for a few weeks.

According to the injury expert, the 26-year-old’s major setback stemmed from

his training on a subpar pitch over the winter break.

After the break, he hasn’t participated in any games, and it doesn’t appear like

he will be back anytime soon.

Physical therapist and sports scientist Brar spoke exclusively with

Ibrox News about his circumstances. He said:

“He had a really serious injury after getting his foot hooked on a poor pitch.

It’s hard to pinpoint the exact damage, but given that he needed surgery,

it seems like a serious one.

“As he approaches his return, his rehabilitation program will involve increasing strength,

mobility, and neuromuscular control exercises, leading to increasingly sport-specific demands.”

“I believe he has a few weeks left before starting training.”

Is Dowell not expected back before March?

Although he hasn’t disclosed a return date, it is unlikely that he

will rejoin the first team before March.

In mid-January, Philippe Clement himself declared him out for

several months, and surgery extends the time frame even more.
