Gary O’Neil reveals Major Problem at Wolves Amid Injury update | Mosquera, Kalajdzic and Gonzalez
The Middlesbrough native made 175 appearances overall for Wolves, with 33 assists and 21 goals. His outstanding wing play earned him an England cap during his time at Molineux.
At the moment, Gary O’Neil could really use a player like Jarvis, since Wolves are now bottom of the Premier League following a winless start to the 2024–25 season.
TBR Football understand Fosun are backing O’Neil for now – and are not contemplating a change in the dugout just yet – although there is an awareness that results must improve.
Matt Jarvis has now revealed what he thinks is the 41-year-old’s main issue at Wolves.Speaking to the Mirror, the 38-year-old pinpointed the sales of Max Kilman to West Ham and Pedro Neto to Chelsea as significant moments.
Jarvis said: “The biggest problem for him (O’Neil) is they sold his two best players in Max Kilman and Pedro Neto, and they have struggled to bring anyone in to cover those positions. It’s extremely difficult if that happens to any team.
However, that has now gone, and the man from Beckenham can only work with the players he has, something he excelled at doing last season after inheriting a mess from Julen Lopetegui, who walked out on the eve of the 2023/24 campaign.
