Sunderland Appoints new Assistant Head Coach :Pedro Ribeiro
Finally, Sunderland has named a new deputy head coach to replace Regis Le Bris.
So far at Sunderland, Regis Le Bris has operated independently,
taking on the backroom staff that was already in place at the Stadium of Light before to his arrival.
Le Bris was supposed to schedule his own appointment in the backroom,
as was widely publicized and anticipated. However, Pero Ribeiro has since been brought in by the club.
Pedro Ribeiro has joined the Black Cats as an assistant head coach under Le Bris.
He will collaborate closely with first-team coach Michael Proctor and fellow assistant head coach Mike Dodds,

Who is Pedro Ribeiro, the assistant head coach at Sunderland? Born in Portugal, Ribeiro is 38 years old.
Before receiving his major break in 2011, he had a brief career as a young player.
However, he moved rapidly into coaching, managing, and helping other youth teams.
He began working with Andre Villas-Boas as a scout for Portuguese powerhouse Porto before moving up to assistant coach.
After serving for two years at Porto, Ribeiro held comparable roles at Olympiacos,
Fenerbahce, Al-Ahli, and 1860 Munich before assuming his first managerial appointment.
In 2018, he landed the role at Gil Vicente who were then in the Portuguese second tier,
with Ribeiro becoming the nation’s youngest head coach aged 32.
With varying degrees of success, Ribeiro has since handled a number of managerial positions in Portugal.
In 2019, he managed Belenenses for a brief period of time in
the Primeira Liga before moving back down to the second division.
His final position was with Leixoes,
where he worked for just 24 games from the summer of 2023 to January of 2024.
As a manager, Ribeiro, who holds a UEFA Pro License, favored a 3-5-2 shape.
