After spending time at Hibs, Aiden McGeady joined Ayr United in 2023. By mutual consent, he has already left the Scottish Championship. He began his career with Celtic, where he shown amazing talent, and then he moved to Spartak Moscow. McGeady turned out south of the border for Everton before a protracted stay at Sunderland before coming back to Scotland.

The 37-year-old winger discussed his plans for a vacation after leaving Ayr in an interview with pundits James McFadden and Kris Boyd on Sky Sports prior to Ross County vs. Celtic. “First and foremost, I would want to express my gratitude to Ayr United for allowing me to fulfill the dual position of both coach and player.

“Well, it didn’t exactly work out football-wise, but over the past six or twelve months, I’ve learned a lot about the other side of the game. I am really appreciative to Ayr United and the upcoming football phase.

“We’ll observe the situation. It should be fascinating. I’m going to take a little vacation and unwind. perhaps learn a little bit more about these guys!”

“Ayr United Football Club can confirm that Aiden McGeady has left the Club by mutual agreement,” said a statement from Ayr United. The Club wishes Aiden the best of luck in the future and would like to thank him for his contributions since arriving in July 2023.
