EXCLUSIVE: Crystal Palace has accepted Tottenham’s bid for star Ebere Eze following new clause release.

Tottenham remain interested in a move to sign Crystal Palace star Ebere Eze but a January deal is unlikely, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 26-year-old’s new £68million release clause will become active next summer amid renewed interest from Spurs.

However, with just two years left on his deal come next summer, interested clubs are expected to explore a cut-price deal for the England international.

Other top clubs are also tracking the Eagles’ star man, and are expected to test Palace’s resolve with offers of £50-60million in 2025.

Palace’s chairman and part-owner Steve Parish spoke about the interest in Eze after the transfer window as he admitted to Sky Sports that he was “astounded” by the lack of an official offer.

Their interest is said to have reignited since the close of the window, though, with the club closely monitoring his progress with a move in mind for next summer.

Tottenham closely monitoring Eberechi Eze progress after Cyrstal Palace twist

It has been a slow start to the season for Palace, as they remain one of five winless sides in the Premier League after six games, with three wins and three defeats.

This includes failing to win against struggling Everton, Leicester or West Ham, but they have also drawn with both Chelsea and Man United.

Eze’s performances have also been impacted by Palace’s turn in form, with three goals and one assist in their first eight games across all competitions.

However, his form at the end of last season earned him a place in England’s Euro 2024 squad, with top clubs monitoring his situation closely.

It was that form which attracted interest from Tottenham, who remain long-term admirers of the attacking midfielder and are expected to explore a deal next summer.

Eze’s £68million release clause is expected to prove too steep for Tottenham to match, but they will aim to capitalise on his contract running down to land a cheaper deal.

Ange Postecoglou is said to be a strong admirer of what the forward could bring to his side and would be keen to work with him.
