11/15 duels won, 3/3 dribbles, 9 recoveries: Tottenham star had his best game of the season at Ferencvaros

On Thursday night, Tottenham Hotspur defeated Ferencvaros 2-1 away from home to

maintain their perfect record in the Europa League.

Seven changes were made to the starting lineup from the 3-0 Premier League victory against

Manchester United by Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou. The four youngsters selected by the

Australian included Will Lankshear, who was competing for the first time.

Tottenham, though, had a fairly easy game away from home. Their command of the midfield was

impressive, and Yves Bissouma, who had an outstanding evening at the Groupama Arena in

Hungary, deserves a lot of the credit.

The 28-year-old’s play at Spurs has been patchy, but he defeated Ferencvaros

11 times out of 15 duels, demonstrating his class. Additionally, he made nine

recoveries and won all of his take-ons.

The Malian player completed 89% of his passes and added 3 interceptions and 2 clearances.

For the former Brighton & Hove Albion player, it was an evening to remember.

Even while it might not be enough to start against his old team this Saturday,

Bissouma might pick up some valuable bench time.

Concerns have been raised about Bissouma’s consistency while he has been in the English capital.

He is unstoppable on his day, but in order to gain the manager’s trust,

he must consistently put up exceptional performances.

Spurs have been winning in all competitions, showing signs of returning to form.

With five goals in as many games, Brennan Johnson has emerged as a revelation.

Yesterday, the Welshman’s goal in the 86th minute proved to be the winning one.

When Postecoglou’s team travels to the South Coast on Sunday,

it’s anticipated that they will stick with the lineup that defeated United.

Spurs may get closer to the Champions League spots with a victory as they currently

trail by three points.

Spurs, who appear to be reaching their peak under Postecoglou,

may have chosen the wrong moment to take their October international break.
