Development: Rangers agree to exit for “terrific” player; he’ll leave Ibrox this week – report
According to latest rumors, one Rangers player will depart Ibrox this week following an arrangement negotiated outside of the UK transfer market.
Rangers’ January Window
The Gers and Philippe Clement were active in the winter window,
signing three new players on loan for the rest of the season.
Fabio Silva, Mohamed Diomande, and Oscar Cortes moved to Glasgow from Wolves,
Nordsjaelland, and Lens, respectively.
Meanwhile, Sam Lammers joined FC Utrecht on loan,
and Adam Devine moved to Motherwell for the second half of the season.
Ibrox legend Barry Ferguson is pleased with the club’s January business, saying:
“I’m quietly pleased with what I’ve seen and the clear progress being made under Clement.
” He began by bringing in Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves before January even began,
and has since expanded his options by acquiring Mohamed Diomande and Oscar Cortes in recent days.
“The signing of Diomande seemed especially clever,
and not simply because of how the figures were structured. They’ve signed a promising talent on loan without having to pay a large fee until the summer.
“That is prudent financially, but it also gives the player an extra six months to settle into the group and become acquainted with the club and Scottish football.
I believe it will be next season before we see the best of him – and the same could be true for Cortes,
who hasn’t played much football in France this season.
“But Clement will gently bleed both of them into his team over the coming weeks and that will come as a huge boost
– and maybe even a bit of a challenge – to the guys who have been there for some time.
I know how I felt during my own playing days, when I was still a youngster trying to hold on to my place in the starting 11.”
There is still time for exits with windows still open around the world,
and it looks as if a move away is on the cards for one particular player.
