Leicester City set to have Jannik Vestergaard vs. Bournemouth

Leicester City face Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and experienced defender Jannik Vestergaard is expected

to be ready for the Foxes. That’s because the Danish national team has summoned Vestergaard up for the next October internationals in

roughly a week, which speaks well for the experienced center back’s chances in the Premier League encounter before the break.

Vestergaard hasn’t played in several weeks owing to an ankle injury, and it was initially thought that he had lost his starting place to new,

youthful center defender Caleb Okoli.

His Denmark will face two major opponents during the “break”: Euro 2024 champions Spain and Switzerland. Newcastle’s backup striker

Callum Wilson is an important player for the Magpies due to his strength and different playing style than star man Alexander Isak, as he

gives the club with quality depth. Newcastle discovered before the season that Wilson would be out for much of the first few weeks due to

a back ailment, but the 32-year-old’s recovery has been considerably longer than expected. Wilson has already missed eight games, and he

will virtually surely miss this weekend’s Premier League match against Everton. However,he should be able to return shortly thereafter.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe informed reporters that Wilson is now expected to return to the squad following the October

international fixtures, which means the striker could be ready to play on October 19 in a key Premier League match against Brighton,

another team hoping to qualify for Europe next season. Everton has signed Albanian striker Armando Broja on loan from Chelsea,

becoming the latest mid-level Premier League club to take a chance on the erratic marksman. Broja played for Southampton before

Chelsea spotted his brilliance, and an ill-fated loan spell at Fulham put his future with the Blues at a crossroads. Unfortunately for Broja,

he has been unable to put together any positive film with Everton thus far in the 2024/25 season, as he has been injured since the

preseason, resulting in no Premier League appearances.

According to Albanian journalist Klaudio Ndreca of Sport Ekspres, Broja will be able to recover from a month-long Achilles tendon injury

in November. Everton want to be cautious with the 23-year-old because of the potential of re-injury, so he will not be involved in any

international fixtures in October.

As a result, it could be until the matches against Southampton or West Ham on November 2 or 9 before Broja gets his shot. Everton has

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto at striker, so Broja will need to bring his “A” game to receive minutes, even against the lowly Toffees.
