Breaking News: Alex Neil, a player who joined Sunderland AFC, is to leave the club by January.

Jewison Bennett ought to be aiming for a January departure because he hasn’t earned

enough playing time at the Stadium of Light.

Since Jefferson Bennette moved to the Stadium of Light two years ago,

Sunderland hasn’t made enough use of him.

He was the final player signed by Alex Neil in the summer of 2022

before the Scotsman moved to Stoke City a few days later.

After Tony Mowbray was named as his replacement, Bennette appeared to have a strong

chance of succeeding with the Black Cats.

In the past, Mowbray had a reputation for grooming young players; under his direction,

Tyrhys Dolan and John Buckley became important members of Blackburn Rovers‘ first squad.

To be fair to the former manager of the Black Cats, he did provide Bennette with some

opportunities to demonstrate his abilities, but in his debut season on Wearside,

He wasn’t exactly a household name.

In the early part of the 2023–24 season, the club defeated Southampton 5-0,

and even though he contributed an impressive assist, he didn’t play much.

In January 2024, he was loaned out to the Greek team Aris.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a key player this season.

even with new manager Regis Le Bris coming in.

Sweden ought to consider borrowing money. Bennett Jewison

Bennette has a lot of potential left in him at the age of 20.

But it’s time for him to move on from Wearside after making just 21 appearances

in two and a half seasons with the Black Cats.

The Black Cats might benefit from a loan move since it would give them one more chance

to evaluate him before deciding what to do with him.

Bennette may eventually find a spot in the first team, provided he can perform well

while on loan elsewhere. Romaine Mundle and Patrick Roberts

may have had a strong start to the season.

He didn’t really stand out at Aris in Greece, though, so in the player’s best interest,

A permanent transfer would be the best course of action. If that happens,

the youthful winger might be able to find a more fulfilling role somewhere.

Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham are two examples of the many young people

who have flourished at the Stadium of Light.

However, Bennette’s situation hasn’t worked out, and he needs to weigh his choices.

Considering his lack of playing time, a January move is undoubtedly necessary.

Bennette was reportedly in talks to join League One team Reading on a loan.

subject to a takeover happening, according to The Tilehurst End.

Regretfully, the Berkshire side’s transaction ultimately collapsed

since they were unable to bring it over the finish line in time.

Nevertheless, the Costa Rican would have been a welcome addition,

as the Royals are still lacking in quality at wide after Femi Azeez’s departure.

Chem Campbell’s loan addition is insufficient because Paul Mukairu

is also departing after his loan period at the Select Car Leasing Stadium comes to an end.

More talent is needed in this area, as Adrian Akande and Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan

Both performed admirably in the early going of the campaign.

For most of the previous term, Azeez was a true asset.

and his departure has left a significant gap.

Campbell won’t be able to cover that hole by himself, and Bennette had a genuine

opportunity to improve Berkshire.

The latter would have most likely received a lot of playing time.

which would have helped him grow.

It was a genuine lost opportunity for both Ruben Selles and the player.

as the drop to the third tier might have also given him the chance to make an impression.

This transaction might have even helped the Black Cats.
