Ivory Coast midfielder, 22, “has been sold” to Rangers
The FC Nordsjaelland star Mohamed Diomande “has been sold” to Rangers, according to sources, and he
will be Philippe Clement’s second January acquisition.
The information was revealed by reputable Danish football journalist Farzam Abolhosseini, who stated
that the 22-year-old Ivorian midfielder will soon undergo an Ibrox medical.
The reporter, who works for the Danish publication BT, states that Mohamed Diomande “has been sold”
to Rangers in a report published in the newspaper.
The midfield player is rumored to be flying back from the Danish team’s training camp in the United
States today, Sunday, 21/01, in advance of an Ibrox medical.
Although the rumor does not specify a transfer cost, the midfielder’s Danish contract is scheduled to expire in a year.
Mohamed Diomande to Rangers
Mohamed Diomande won’t be a name that too many Rangers fans are familiar with but the signing
certainly fits the Ibrox side’s profile.
Coming from the Danish Superliga, as the club look to grow their stuttering player trading model
Rangers will hope to unearth gems from the region before selling them on at high profits.
Through the renowned Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, Mohamed Diomande became a member of
FC Nordsjaelland back in January 2020.
Since then, the midfielder has made 111 appearances for the Danes, tallying an astounding 13 goals and 14 assists.
FC Nordsjælland star fits transfer model
The apparently imminent signing follows on from comments made by Philippe Clement about needing
to sign young players who could eventually be sold on for higher fees.
Following the Scottish Cup triumph over Dumbarton, the manager of the Gers also made hints about impending additions.
The responsibility of acquiring brilliant young talent from emerging markets who can make an effect
immediately, as well as for the reasons mentioned above, has been assigned to Nils Koppen, the new director of recruitment.
Fans may now learn more about Mohamed Diomande’s qualifications by YouTubing him, but as of right
now, this possible transfer seems to fit a lot of requirements.
Rangers may not be finished there either, as the team is still searching for a number of additional jobs.
