Celtic’s Champions League qualification may give them a £50 million advantage

over Rangers this season.

According to financial expert Stefan Borson, who spoke with Football Insider exclusively,

Celtic are now in a strong position to continue and dominate financially now that Rangers

have been forced to settle for a Europa League spot.

On September 16, Celtic released their 2023–24 financial statements.

They showed that their revenue increased by 3.9% from £119.9 million to a new club record

of £124.6 million.

The fact that Brendan Rodgers’ team won the Scottish Cup,

the Scottish Premiership and qualified for the Champions League made sure they turned

a profit for the third consecutive year.

Rangers’ most recent financial stats are well behind Celtic’s.

who made £83.75 million in income in 2022-2023 and are expected

to make a similar amount this season.

Rangers are unable to match Celtic’s “enormous” financial edge.

Borson said that since Celtic’s finances have improved recently,

They are in a favorable situation.

Football Insider was informed by Borson that “their wage bill is more under control

than most Premier League teams.”

They are, in a sense, in a pretty good location.

Their salary budget for 2023 was £60 million, the lowest in the Premier League.

They are in a very favorable position once they reach the Champions League league stage.

which they are this season and were last season thanks to a relatively reasonable wage bill

and their status as a Champions League squad.

Rangers will simply not have the roughly £50 million that comes from the group stages.

so it’s a significant edge over them.

“It might not be exactly £50 million, but it’s definitely not far off.

“They simply have a huge advantage over the Rangers,

so I believe they will be financially dominant.”
