Transfer claims pushed forward As Manchester United and Newcastle United both in picture for Marc Bernal – details
Marc Bernal of Barcelona is now on the transfer lists of Newcastle United and Manchester United.
Moisés Llorens, a Spanish journalist, is at least reporting on that. He gave a brief update
on Newcastle United’s and Manchester United’s interest on X, the platform that was once known as Twitter.
After completing Barcelona’s youth program, the 17-year-old made 36 appearances as a regular for
their reserve team the previous season.
The young player was elevated to the first team by Hansi Flick, and he has made three appearances
so far this season. The journalist believes that the defensive midfielder’s Barcelona contract has
a €20 million release clause, and that the term expires in 2026.
The Catalan club has no intention of letting go of the teenager, even though Manchester United and
Newcastle are interested in activating his option. Llorens declares that “he’s staying” at Camp Nou.
The reporter also says that the Blaugrana intend to prolong the contract of the Spain U17 international, and they will formally announce the renewal this coming week.
Bernal had a serious knee injury towards the end of last month and will be sidelined for the majority of the season.
It is astonishing that a player who is unlikely to play again for a long time has attracted interest from both Manchester United and Newcastle. It’s possible that Bernal’s group utilized the two Premier League players to pressure Barca into giving him a new deal.
