Football Insider has learned that Brighton are interested in bringing Irish wonderkid Rory Lawlor to the Premier League.

The English club has sent scouts on regular missions to watch the 17-year-old, who scored for UCD’s Under-19s in their 3-0 Uefa Youth

League triumph over Icelandic team Stjarnan FC on Wednesday (September 18).UCD, the University College Dublin football team, now

competes in the Republic of Ireland’s second division of football, the First Division.

Brighton has a history of signing players from the Republic of Ireland, including Evan Ferguson and Andrew Moran.

The UCD first team is currently in second position, 22 points behind league leaders Cork City, who hold the league’s lone automatic

promotion spot.

The Dublin side will next face the out-of-form Cobh Ramblers on Friday (September 20), looking to capitalize on their game in hand over

third-place Wexford FC.Brighton remains unbeaten under new manager Fabian Hurzeler, sitting in sixth place after winning two and

drawing two of their first four Premier League games.
