Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has offered an update on the availability of several players for Sunday’s league cup encounter against

Falkirk. The Hoops welcome the Bairns to Parkhead after defeating Slovan Bratislava 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

It was a historic night for the Bhoys, who were on it from beginning to end.

Liam Scales, Kyogo Furuhashi, Arne Engels, Daizen Maeda, and Adam Idah all contributed to the decisive victory.

Celtic will attempt to take their recent form onto the domestic scene as the Scottish Championship league leaders visit Glasgow’s east end.

Key players Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers did not practice today, and manager Brendan Rodgers has now offered an

update on his squad’s fitness levels.

“We’ve got a few players with niggles so we will have a look at that and assess that by end of play tomorrow,” he indicated (Glasgow Times).

“We will not take any chances with one or two.

“It was the second day of recovery as well so there was a group of the players out recovering and a group training hard and then one or two

inside just making extra recovery inside rather than out.”

Although Falkirk are currently performing well, Rodgers can make a few changes to the lineup on Sunday.

Fans are excited to see Alex Valle and Auston Trusty play more, given their minutes at Celtic have been limited thus far.

Other players who did not play much midweek, such as Luke McCowan, Paulo Bernardo, and Anthony Ralston, could potentially enter the

fray.

This Sunday’s kickoff comes at 3 p.m., with the Celts hoping to secure their first trip to Hampden this season.
