Following another year of strong financial success, Keith Wyness, the former chief of Aberdeen, has insisted that Celtic look into creating a “multi-club organization.”

Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old insisted that both the Hoops and Rangers should look into bringing in more teams. He previously held executive positions at Everton and Aston Villa, as well as serving as CEO of Aberdeen from 2000 to 2004. Currently, he runs a football consultancy that provides advice to elite clubs.
On Monday, September 16, the Scottish champions released financial statements for the 2023–24 season. They showed that their year-end cash increased from £72.3 million in the 2022–23 season to £77.2 million in the previous one.

At the same time, Celtic’s revenue increased by 3.9 percent from £119.9 million to a new club high of £124.6 million.

The Hoops’ involvement in the revamped, lucrative Champions League format is another reason why they should see a significant increase in revenue this season.

In recent years, English clubs like as Man City, Brighton, and Crystal Palace have effectively leveraged the benefit of multi-club ownership.

Wyness thinks that after £77 million of documents surface, Celtic needs to look into multi-club ownership.

Wyness stated on the Football Insider podcast’s Insider Track: “I’m not sure what Celtic’s main strategy is.

“I find it surprising that they don’t have a large, multi-club organization.

It makes sense in my opinion. It allows them to use some of these reserves and turn them into a far more valuable asset for the team as a whole.

“They would be able to reach this sizable worldwide fan base.”I’m not sure why that hasn’t been done, but it’s the same for Rangers.

“These are the questions that these clubs need to answer.”
