As Narcis Pelach welcomed the new employees to Stoke City, a recurring theme emerged: hunger and hard effort were the norm.

Paul Clements comes to Norwich with a strong reputation for helping goalkeepers develop.

One such goalie is Angus Gunn,

a former Stoke loanee who credits Clements for helping him reach his peak performance.

Former Stoke midfielder Dean Whitehead is the first team coach, and Harrison Glew is a new analyst.

After leaving Stoke in 2013, Whitehead continued his playing career withand Huddersfield,

but his son is already registered in the academy.

His coaching career has brought him around the country.
“I’m very happy that Dean Whitehead is here; he’s a good coach,” stated Pelach.

He is a wonderful man, a former football player, and he is prepared to give the football team his all. He’s a very useful addition.

Paul Clements is another example of this diligence. To reach to his current goalkeeping position, he has had to battle hard.

One thing I adore about him is that he’s a hungry man. He’s craving more. His dream jobs would be in

the Champions League and the Premier League. He has dreams. It’s something that energizes me greatly.

“You can’t put in as much work as Harrison does. These are the folks you want by your side.

Pelach had worked under Carlos Corberan and David Wagner alongside Clements and

Glew at Huddersfield and Norwich, where they had both made it to the Championship play-offs.

However, he was questioned about how his paths had crossed with Whitehead,

who is joining Stoke from Barnsley following coaching stints at Shrewsbury, Cardiff, Watford, Besiktas, and—whisper it—Port Vale,

where he and the now-Barnsley Darrell Clarke earned promotion to League One.

“I worked at Huddersfield, where he had been a player, and he was well respected,” stated Pelach.

Individuals and athletes alike consistently spoke highly of him. After that, he worked as a coach at Watford and Cardiff,

where we frequently crossed paths. Eventually, we came to know one another and are now together.

Now that we know one other better, we will become closer.”

This week, former defender Leigh Bromby—who later played for Huddersfield—also commended Clements for his work at Norwich.

The Pink Un was informed by Bromby, “I think it’s a big loss.” Angus Gunn claims it’s the best game of his career,

and you can see why. As I’ve observed him, it is. It seems to be one, in my opinion.
