Philippe Clement has stated that he expected more from Rangers’ opponents in the Scottish Premiership before of their game against Aberdeen on Tuesday, February 6.

Since the Belgian’s arrival in October, the Gers have only lost one match,

a 2-1 defeat to their Old Firm opponents on December 30.

On Monday (5 February), he told The Scottish Sun: “What I want for Scottish football is for new managers to be daring enough to play. There is yet a step to take.

“During the warm-up, I can see how they are built and technical.

Then I don’t see it in-game. I believe it’s a little unfortunate in the end.

“There are teams that do things, and teams that are frightened to do them.

I understand that some sometimes believe it is impossible.”

Rangers have a tougher struggle.

Rangers may be given a considerably more difficult task against Aberdeen on Tuesday night,

with new signing Neil Warnock offering a whole new challenge for Clement.

Though the former Leeds United and Middlesbrough manager has only had limited time with his new side, having only been appointed on Monday,

the Gers face a much more tough assignment than normal.

Aberdeen are already a strong opponent for the Gers, having won twice and drawn once in the last five meetings.

Warnock will offer the visitors a better opportunity of securing at least a point against Rangers.

However, with only three points separating Clement’s club from first place in the Scottish Premiership,

the Rangers squad will be given the added motivation of being able to dethrone their Old Firm rivals if they achieve a goal difference of plus three.
